Moral injury, the psychological distress from violating deeply held moral beliefs, is under-researched in non-military settings. This scoping review synthesizes civilian workplace literature through an Industrial-Organizational psychology lens to distinguish moral injury from occupational stress. Guided by the JBI framework, it maps organizational antecedents and outcomes. Findings will establish conceptual boundaries necessary to develop valid measurement tools and systemic interventions.
