Journal Retirement Announcement
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to retire Emerging Perspectives and cease future publication. This decision follows an extended period of declining submissions, reduced reviewer engagement, and shifting scholarly communication practices within our field. While our commitment to supporting high-quality, community-engaged scholarship remains unchanged, the journal is no longer positioned to serve authors, reviewers, or readers in a sustainable and meaningful way.
For more than two decades, Emerging Perspectives has provided a home for rigorous inquiry, reflective practice, and critical dialogue. We are deeply grateful to the authors who entrusted us with their work, the reviewers who contributed their expertise, the editorial teams who shaped the journal across the years, and the readers who engaged with and amplified its contributions. This journal has always been a collaborative effort, and its legacy is a testament to the educators, researchers, and community partners who animated its pages.
Effective immediately:
-
No new submissions will be accepted.
-
Current and archived issues will remain publicly accessible through the University of Calgary journal hosting platform.
-
Previously published authors may continue to link to and cite their work as usual.
We hope that the scholarship fostered through this journal continues to support teaching, learning, and research in the years ahead. Thank you for your support, your trust, and your commitment to educational inquiry.
