Instructions for Authors
Language and Style
- Manuscripts must be in English (Canadian or US spelling and grammar).
- Use APA 7th edition style for references, citations, tables, and figures.
- Include an abstract in English and abstract(s) in the language(s) of the country(ies) studied.
Manuscript Length and Formatting
- Length: Maximum 7,000 words, inclusive of abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Font:Times New Roman, 12 pt.
- Spacing:Double-spaced.
- Margins: 5 cm (1 inch) on all sides.
- Page numbers: Bottom center.
- Tables and figures: Must be embedded within the manuscript with captions following APA 7 style.
Manuscript Structure
- Title Page
- Title of the manuscript
- Author(s) name(s), affiliations, ORCID (optional)
- Corresponding author’s email
- Optional short author bio
- Abstract (English): 150–250 words
- Abstract(s) in local/regional language(s) of the country(ies) studied
- Keywords: 5–7 keywords
- Main Document (anonymous file): Suggested sections (as appropriate)
- Introduction
- Literature Review / Background
- Methodology
- Results / Findings
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Ethics Statement: Describe ethical approval, informed consent, or justification if exempt
- Conflict of Interest Statement: Declare any financial or non-financial conflicts
- AI Use Statement: Declare any use of AI tools in manuscript preparation
- Funding Acknowledgement Statement: Detail all funding sources or state none
- References: APA 7th edition, ensure all in-text citations match reference list
Anonymization for Double-Blind Review
Submit two separate files:
- Anonymized manuscript– remove all identifying information, including author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, self-citations revealing identity, metadata, and file properties.
- Non-anonymized cover/title page– containing author names, affiliations, and contact information Note: Failure to provide an anonymized version will result in return of manuscript before review.
Submission Process
- Upload two files via the journal’s OJS submission system:
- Anonymized manuscript
- Non-anonymized cover/title page
- Include a cover letter stating:
- Manuscript type and relevance to CAHER scope
- Originality and exclusive submission
- Confirmation that the anonymized manuscript has no identifying information
