Résumé

The following paper will explore the nature of advocacy and participatory perspectives with a particular focus on racialized discourses. I argue that when conducting studies around the area of racialized discourses, an advocacy and participatory lens is vital to understanding the knowledge claims of those individuals who have in the past been, and who continue to be, marginalized in educational research.
