Abstract

This literature review highlights practices that engage working memory and inhibitory control which may support language development in children attending preschool, particularly those based on free choice and scaffolding. While these practices show promising potential, this article emphasizes the need for further research to better understand and optimize such practices, while also exploring their implementation in preschool classrooms.
