  Jana Smith Elford is a doctoral candidate in the department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta. Her research appears in the Victorians Institute Journal: Digital Annex, Victorian Review, the Journal of Modern Periodicals Studies, and Orlando: Women’s Writing in the British Isles from Beginnings to the Present, and the collection Reading Modernism with Machines (Palgrave MacMillan).
