Résumé

Science education sometimes seems quite dry and humourless; however, there are opportunities to add some entertainment to science in the classroom.  The National Park Service often posts to social media a blend of science with the humour that comes from ordinary people, animals, photos captured at key moments, and popular culture.  These posts can inspire curiosity and lead to discovery by those who delve into their topics.  Both scientist and non-scientist views align to explain the popularity of these contemporary general science outreach efforts.
