The purpose of this study is to determine how educators express their expectations to children in a kindergarten situation. The methodology adopted for collecting children-educator interactions was the following : a nonparticipant observation and a structured questionnaire. We have studied the data on the angle of the Pygmalion effect. Six educators and children from 18 months to 6 years have participated in this study. The results are presented in the form of stories experienced by the children. These stories show that educators, when cultivating high or low expectations towards the children, do not seem to react in the same manner. The study should promote an awareness for those educators who work with children in a kindergarten situation and where the Pygmalion effect is often present.
