Résumé

Quebec's elementary school social studies program is part of an important movement in North American education. It promotes the development of politically correct social attitudes and scientifically correct intellectual attitudes that Orlandi (1971) called "socially acceptable attitudes." The authors, after identifying these attitudes, emphasize that, under the cover of a developmental approach in the area of savoiretre ("knowing how to be"), the program instead supports a techno behaviorist approach conducive to an approval of conformist and noncritical values and attitudes.
