Résumé

This article compares classical Greek and Chinese conceptions of education. It deals with the similarities and diversities between the classical Chinese philosophers - Confucius, Mencius, and Hsun Tzu - and their Greek counterparts - Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle - on philosophical issues, notably, ethics, politics, metaphysics, human nature, as w ell as their implications for educational theory and practice.
