To our knowledge, few studies have focused on the assessment practices used by university faculty to evaluate future physical and health education teachers. The aim of this study is to inventory the assessment practices in initial physical and health education teacher training in light of current research. A literature review was conducted in seven databases, using criteria organized according to the PICOS model. In total, eight studies were selected, including seven qualitative and two quantitative, under three emerging themes: peer assessment (n=4), formative assessment (n=2), and assessment of motor skills (n=2). This approach allows us to conclude that the issue of assessment in initial physical and health education training is a research topic that needs to be developed to better understand evaluative practices in a university context.
