Jorge M. Sousa, University of Alberta

Jorge Sousa is an Associate Professor in the Adult Education specialization in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Alberta. Jorge’s research is focused on understanding the impact that community-based initiatives and businesses have on strengthening Canada’s Social Economy.  

Daniel Schugurensky, Arizona State University

Daniel Schugurensky (PhD, University of Alberta, 1994) is a Professor at Arizona State University, where he is the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Social and Cultural Pedagogy and the Founding Director of the Participatory Governance Initiative. His academic interests include adult education, citizenship education, globalization dynamics, educational policy, comparative and international education, school-community relations, teacher training, higher education, participatory democracy and youth engagement.
