Abstract

All of these authors wrote about their own cultural differences of theoretical understanding and practical implementation of "modern languages across the curriculum," which they also call "content and language integrated learning." For example, there is a need for advanced oral and written proficiency for subject-knowledge requirements and for pedagogical content knowledge, the "modern languages across the curriculum" that comprises language acquisition and development, bilingualism, school policy, material developments, and assessment (p. 185).
