Abstract

Although health professions training, by definition, is a subset of adult education, the two fields are disparate in terms of their theoretical foundations and their practice. In this paper, adult education is used as a framework for the analysis of teaching in the health professions. Implications are discussed in tem1s of theory-building in both areas, research, and practice.
