À propos de cette revue

Focus and Scope

49th Parallel is published annually by the 49th Parallel Schools of Architecture Consortium, on the subjects of architectural education, design, theory, and practice. It is intended to be a vehicle for publishing material (including arcticles, interviews, profiles, and student work) on themes of common interest to the schools. In particular those that involve the prairie, forest and mountain landscapes of the region, and topics such as native American culture, energy, regionalism, settlement and teaching pedagogies.

Peer Review Process

The 49th Parallel ejournal will be published annually according to a topical theme that is of common interest to the member schools, this theme will guide design studios in the various schools and allow for various scholarly and project-based submissions. 49th Parallel will publish blind peer-reviewed articles, student work, invited contributions (including articles, interviews, profiles, and reviews), and reprinted material -- these will be clearly distinguished in the structure of the journal. As an open source journal we accept submissions. The blind peer review of submissions will be conducted by the editorial board, and reviewers drawn from the eight school in the Consortium. Reviews will normally take 8 weeks to conduct.

Publication Frequency

The 49th Parallel Ejournal will be published annually in the Spring.

In particular those that involve the prairie, forest and mountain landscapes of the region, and topics such as native American culture, energy, regionalism, settlement and teaching pedagogies.
