This approach of this course is likely different than most other courses you have taken. As a critical member of a student team, you will contribute significantly to the development of an original solution to a real-world challenge.
Throughout the process, you will have access to your Instructor for support and assistance. By utilizing your Instructor as a support resource, you will be able to obtain answers to your questions and receive feedback and guidance.
Through this unique opportunity, you will practice a set of key skills, habits of mind, and attitudes that are absolutely invaluable in solving the complex, large-scale problems of today’s world. Further, you will learn how to learn—a skill that will serve you throughout your personal, professional, and academic journey.
You will complete your project in a group by completing work in multiple course modules over the 3-phase problem-solving approach, as shown above.

Module 1-1 is the starting point for the course. Your first task is to Introduce Yourself and meet your classmates.
To work your way through the course, access the Modules section, which is available from the link in the left-hand course navigation (as shown below).
Modules contain all of the materials, information, and assignments, presented in chronological order. This is the only area in Canvas that contains everything you need. Therefore, we recommend that you rely primarily on Modules throughout the course.
If you need help using the Canvas learning management system, online chat and phone support are available 24/7 by clicking on the ? icon in the left-hand navigation.
If you have a question about course content or assignments, it's likely someone else in the class is wondering about the same thing. Please post questions in the Ask a Question discussion area, so everyone can benefit from the answers.
For personal concerns, please email your instructor.
